On the 7th of November AB Lietuvos paštas issues the last two postage stamps of 2009 from the series “Holy Christmas and New Year”.

Together with the new postage stamp first day souvenir sheet and first day cover will be issued. On the same day postal correspondence items paid by these postage stamps will be cancelled with the first day issue cancel in Vilnius main post office.

One Christmas postage stamp is intended to pay for the postage of non priority items up to 20 g sent within Lithuania. Its nominal value - 1,35 LTL, the edition – 1,6 million.

The other postage stamp can be used to pay for the sending of priority postal items up to 20 g to the European Union countries or non priority items up to 20 g to other than the EU countries. The edition of this postal stamp is 0,25 million, nominal value – 2,45 LTL.

The designer of Christmas postage stamp is Irma Balakauskaitė. The stamps were printed in "Österreichishe Staatsdrukerei GmbH" printing-house in Austria.
